Do you have a question regarding my photography tour in Prague? The chances are that somebody had the same question before as well and you will find it below. If you don’t find a question you want to ask, don’t hesitate to contact me by e-mail [email protected].
Would you recommend a morning tour or an evening tour?
I highly recommend the evening tour because Prague looks absolutely great at night. The evening tour is not so weather-dependent as the morning tour. The morning tour also starts very early most of the times of the year, so we catch good light and sunrise, this means we start at about 5-6 am. The starting time of evening tours is much better. If you only have time to take one tour, take the evening one.
How do you define an active photographer and non-photographer?
The active photographer is someone who carefully listens to my instructions, asks photography-related questions, gets my feedback on their shots and in general, actively participates on the tour and I focus on him or her.
A non-photographer typically tags along and doesn’t show their interest in photography but rather keep their spouse or friend company on the photo tour. They can take snapshots as we walk, that’s fine.
How many non-photographers can I take with me?
In general, I allow one non-photographer to tag along. Imagine that I will have four active photographers on a tour and everyone takes three other people with them. It’s 17 people including me and it’s just too much. I’m trying to keep my tour groups small and efficient. If you want to bring more people, check with me and I can tell you based on availability for that given time slot if it’s okay or not. If you want to be sure, opt-in for a private tour and you can bring as many family member or friends as you want. Just keep it reasonable, please 😉
When does the photo tours start?
In order to catch a good light, I’m starting the morning tours so we catch the sunrise and sometimes even the morning blue hour. The evening tours start so we finish shooting about 15 minutes past the end of the evening blue hour. As sunrise and sunset times vary over the year, I put together estimated starting times (+/- 15 minutes) for different months of a year. Please note, that time changes between regular and summer saving time in March and October, so in these months, it depends on the exact day when you are taking the tour.
|Month||Morning tour||Evening tour|
|January||7:00 – 10:30||14:00 – 17:30|
|February||7:00 – 10:30||14:30 – 18:00|
|March||6:30 – 9:30||15:30 – 19:00|

|May||5:00 – 8:30||18:00 – 21:30|
|June||5:00 – 8:30||18:00 – 21:30|
|July||5:00 – 8:30||18:30 – 22:00|
|August||5:00 – 8:30||18:00 – 21:30|

In case of cloudy weather forecast with no real chance of sun, we may start the morning tour even later because there won’t be any light anyway.
Where do we meet?
For regular tours, meeting spots are described here and I will tell you in time where we are going to meet. If you opted-in for a private tour and your hotel is located in the city center, I can pick you up right there.
Can I pay by card?
Yes, you can! At the moment, we accept both debit and credit cards Visa, V PAY, Mastercard and Maestro. American Express will be supported starting May 2018.
What happens in case of bad weather?
In case of a bad weather forecast, we try to re-schedule the tour based on your and my availability. If we don’t manage to do so, we cancel it. As I don’t collect deposits, you will not lose any money.
